By Colin Clarke Understanding Dyslexia This morning you wake up but something is very wrong! The words and letters on everything you are trying to read are all jumbled up, in the wrong sequence and simply don't make any sense. You can’t read anything! You are confused and frustrated. You head out to work, but can’t read directions, road signs, warning labels, nothing makes sense, emails are all messed up and your keyboard seems to be garbled. This is what people with dyslexia face every day! Many will learn to read and write, but many weren’t able to in school - or simply can't - and they end up labeled as dumb, or slow. Young students, who simply don't understand that their brain decodes these letters differently, can become depressed, anti-social, withdrawn, or worse. It is imperative that their condition is caught early in their education and social development. Roughly 750,000 people across Canada are faced with these issues because of this neurological condition. D
